"tijuana moment"

I was in El Ranchero Bar last night, talking to my American friend Andrew. We turned around and this fellow had slipped into the bar with his guitar and settled next to us. He said his name was Oscar and that he was from Guadelajara. Since Andrew had just gotten back from Guadelajara, he requested a couple of songs he had heard there. Oscar proceeded to amaze us with the most beautiful voice and excellent guitar playing. I gave him a 50 peso bill and he played some more and let me take his picture. Andrew tipped him another 50 peso bill and he played some more. Just an incredible voice. Even Andrew, who has been in TJ for a couple of years and is thoroughly weary of the place in a way that only wealthy, trust-fund kids can be, was impressed. He leaned into me and said, "Wow! Missing his front teeth and with only three strings on his guitar but just listen to that!" When Oscar slipped out the door Andrew shook his head and said, "Well, we just had a genuine Tijuana Moment!"
